Our skincare series, “Brands You Need to Know” is past it’s halfway mark, but I’ve still got a few more glowing (no pun intended) reviews to come – and this post for BeautyRx by Dr. Schultz is no exception. I’ve been using a handful of BeautyRx products for months and am thrilled to introduce you all to yet another incredible skincare brand. I must admit, I’m a sucker for sleek packaging, but my mother always told me to never judge a book by it’s cover and I’m glad I listened. On the outside, BeautyRx looks clean and basic, but don’t be fooled. These products really pack a punch! After testing just a few of BeautyRx’s many skincare offerings, I’m definitely hooked.

BeautyRx by Dr. Schultz

BeautyRx was founded by Dr. Neal Schultz, a board-certified dermatologist with 35 years of experience practicing in New York City. He created a full range of products with one goal in mind – to give people gorgeous, glowing skin from the comfort of their homes. Dr. Schultz is also an award-winning doctor, author of “It’s Not About Wrinkles” and host of DermTV; needless to say, he knows a thing or two about skincare. Not only does BeautyRx offer a huge range of skincare products for every skin concern, but you can find answers to any of your skincare questions on the “Ask Dr. Schultz” section of the BeautyRx website.

So, let’s talk about the products, shall we? First up, the BeautyRx Hydrating Body Lotion. This is a non-greasy body lotion, that’s super hydrating and gives an amazing glow to the skin. I typically stick to body butters, because I enjoy a truly rich, hydrating experience; however, the Hydrating Body Lotion kept my skin feeling moisturized and glowing all day without having to reapply. It almost gives my skin the look of an oil, with the texture of a lotion – pretty amazing! It’s unscented, which is great for folks with sensitivity issues, and won’t compete with your fragrance. Another perk, the bottle contains 6.76 oz. and lasts quite awhile.

Moving onto moisturizer for the face – the Nourishing Moisture Cream. This oil-free moisturizer was one of my favorite products of the bunch. Ingredients include BeautyRx antioxidant complex Triantiox (to protect against premature aging and skin damage), along with Japanese Green Tea Leaf Extract and Vitamin E. The formula is super lightweight and absorbs beautifully. It’s also fragrance-free and hasn’t caused any irritation or breakouts to my sensitive skin. It is a cream, but applies almost like a gel. I’ve used it both day and night, but I absolutely love wearing it as my moisturizer under makeup. It almost feels like a primer, leaving my skin smooth and hydrated; moisturized, but matte. My skin is extremely dry, but this cream has a magical way of keeping me hydrated without even a hint of feeling greasy. I was surprised at how much I loved this product, as it’s different from other moisturizers I’ve tried.

Next up, the Ultra Hydrating Eye Repair Cream, an emollient-rich, super hydrating eye cream that promises to brighten and reduce the appearance of fine lines around the eye area. This eye cream is so rich and creamy. With Hyaluronic Acid & BeautyRx’s Triantiox complex, it truly is one of the most hydrating eye creams I’ve ever used. During the colder months, I used it morning and night. Now that the weather is warmer, I’ve been using it in the evenings, as it’s too heavy for me under makeup. This product, like the others, is unscented and doesn’t irritate the eye area one bit. A little goes a long way with this cream; I’ve been working on the same 0.5 oz. jar for months and I’m only about halfway through it. If you’re looking for an eye cream to seriously hydrate, I would most definitely give this one a go!

Last, but certainly not least, is the Triple Vitamin C Serum. We all know that Vitamin C is top notch for brightening the skin, but with so many products on the market, it’s hard to narrow down which to buy. In a recent consumer perception study, 100% of Triple Vitamin C Serum users reported brighter, softer, smoother skin. I can happily report that I saw the same results. Previously, I had finished my bottle of Ole Henrikson Truth Serum and wanted to try something new. Formulated with 3 potent forms of Vitamin C, the Triple Vitamin C Serum by BeautyRx feels lightweight and wears well under makeup, as I usually apply my Vitamin C in the mornings. It absorbs in seconds and a little goes a long way. One of my favorite things about this product, aside from the glow it gives, is the fact that it doesn’t feel sticky like other Vitamin C serums can feel. This was another standout product for me. I always keep a Vitamin C product in my skincare routine and this is by far my favorite.

I’m so happy to have been introduced to BeautyRx by Dr. Schultz as a brand and to have found some products that I will definitely be keeping in my skincare rotation. Next time I’m in New York, I’ll be stopping by the BeautyRx Peel Bar for a 15-minute glycolic peel with no downtime. With no Peel Bar in my area, next on my BeautyRx wish list is the at-home Glycolic Progressive Peel. Have you tried any BeautyRx products? If so, I’d love to hear your recommendations as to what to try next.
