I’ll admit, the allure of a beautifully packaged beauty product is usually motivation enough for me to pull out my credit card. Like many of my beauty obsessed comrades, I’m guilty of buying something at Sephora purely based on aesthetics. I apply the same reasoning to my beauty room. Although it would make sense to place my most used products on my vanity, I usually save that precious real estate for the particularly dreamy jars and bottles. When a delivery showed up at my door from beauty brand Context Skin, my heart fluttered and I immediately knew I’d need to make some room on my top shelf.

Context Skin

Looking beyond the minimal, monochromatic packaging, I was delighted to learn that Context Skin is natural and free of parabens, sulfates, fragrance and alcohol. Plus, their unisex, plant-based products are all made in the USA. Sounds good, right? I’m happy to report that these Context Skin products not only look stunning on my vanity, but they also deliver results. Context kindly gifted me their Total Oil Cleanser, Antioxidant Serum, Intensive Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 and their Vitamin C All Day Eye Cream. Keep reading for a rundown on each, including the standout products and the impressive list of ingredients packed into these beauties.

Context Skin - Total Oil Cleanser

CONTEXT TOTAL OIL CLEANSER

I was most excited to try the Total Oil Cleanser. I had high hopes for this as a first step in my double cleanse and it did not disappoint. Context’s Total Oil Cleanser contains a perfectly curated blend of oils including Jojoba oil, Safflower oil, Olive oil, Vitamin E and Squalane. I was initially enamored by the light, fresh scent of this oil cleanser. Context recommends massaging the product into wet skin, but I’ve also used it on dry skin with the same results. It removes every trace of makeup without leaving my skin feeling dry. I’ve tried cleansing oils that leave a greasy residue, but I love the fact that the Total Oil Cleanser rinses clean with warm water.

ANTIOXIDANT SERUM

With my skin recovering from the long, cold winter, the Antioxidant Serum was a much needed addition to my routine. With a long list of nourishing ingredients, this serum is a hydrating powerhouse. I’d been losing the winter skin battle, but the Antioxidant Serum serious helped in the hydration department.  This product contains a ton of beneficial ingredients such as Jojoba Oil, Camomile, Tamarind Seed, Cucumber, Aloe, Vitamin E, Rosewood and Maple. The gel formula is completely fragrance-free and absorbs in seconds.

INTENSIVE DAILY MOISTURIZER SPF 15

The Intensive Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 was a standout product for me. The gentle, citrus scent, derived from the natural tangerine and orange peel oil,  is intoxicating. It smells delicious; like a creamsicle. This smooth, cream moisturizer has become one of my favorite products in my routine because of it’s ability to be intensely hydrating without feeling heavy or greasy. The texture is perfect, not too thick, but substantial enough to feel like it’s doing it’s job. As an added bonus, the broad spectrum SPF 15 offers protection against both UVA and UVB rays. This cocktail of glycerin, aloe, rose hip extract and marigold extract work to hydrate, sooth and protect the skin, while allantoin and vitamins C & E provide antioxidants and promote healing.

VITAMIN C ALL DAY EYE CREAM

I’m sure I’ve mentioned my search for the perfect eye cream before. The struggle is real, kids. I am, however, impressed by the Vitamin C All Day Eye Cream. I prefer it for daytime use, as I typically like something heavier for the evening. To start, it’s actually a gel formula – but if it’s wants to call itself a cream, who am I to judge? I appreciate the tube packaging and the fact that a little goes a long way with his cream/gel. The texture feels almost watery once applied and takes a bit longer to absorb than other eye creams I’ve tried, but I’m obsessed with the way it wakes up my tired peepers in the morning. The ingredients include vitamins C & E for antioxidant protection, grape seed extract as an anti-inflammatory and  angelica, echinacea and licorice extracts to sooth and calm the under eye area. The natural citrus scent is not unlike that of the Intensive Daily Moisturizer.

Context Skin

It’s been awhile since I’ve found a brand whose every product leaves me wanting more. After trying these four beauties, I’m definitely sold on Context. In addition to their skincare range, Context also offers a selection of nail polishes (the color selection is phenomenal), hair products, lipstick products and candles. Next on my Context wishlist is their White Charcoal Detox Mask, lipstick in “Come Clean” and the Concolor Fir candle.
