Every beauty-obsessed woman works to create their own skincare lineup catered to their lifestyle and needs. Well, Lynne Florio & Renee Tavoularis, the founders of Planted in Beauty by Well Within did just that. This uber-talented duo, with over 45 combined years of expertise at prestige skincare brand La Prairie, dreamed of designing a beauty brand that focused on skincare, but was also inclusive of nutrition and wellness. Planted in Beauty’s natural, organic skincare is formulated with plant-based ingredients (including fragrance and colorants) and are free from chemicals and toxins. The brand takes an eco-friendly approach from start to finish, seed to packaging and their entire line is vegan and no part of their products are ever tested on animals.
Offering full transparency, the list of natural ingredients in Planted in Beauty products is extensive, as is the list of products that do not appear in any of their products (Parabens, Petroleum, Sulfates, Silicones, Pesticides, Alcohol.. the list goes on). Being that the skin is the largest organ in the body and absorbs 60% of what we put on it, I find it comforting knowing that I can pronounce and recognize the ingredients in Planted in Beauty skincare. In addition to the skincare range, Planted in Beauty is part of the Well Within website, focusing on a holistic approach to nutrition, wellness, beauty and lifestyle.
So, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty of the products. Shall we? The range consists of seven pieces, ranging in price from $65-$200. If you’re interested in trying Planted in Beauty’s products before you pull the trigger on their full sized options, they offer a 14-day supply of six of their products in their starter set for $25. I used this set exclusively for two weeks and was impressed with how beautifully the products work together. The only product that isn’t included in the set is the Purify + Condition Makeup Remover, so I removed my makeup with my current favorite cleanser and used the Sooth + Soften Cleansing Emulsion as my second cleanse. It’s super gentle and removed all leftover traces of makeup without drying my skin. One of my favorite products from the range was the Polish + Resurface Natural Exfoliant. This natural exfoliator with Pineapple and Raspberry has a slight lather and smoothes skin without harsh abrasives. My face didn’t feel the tiniest bit dry after using this, just smooth and soft.
The Balance + Calm Toning Lotion feels thicker than your average toner. The alcohol-free formula is non-drying and leaves the skin feeling hydrated and ready for treatments. It’s formulated with Chamomile and Arcina to restore the pH levels of the skin. I was most excited to try the Firm + Smooth + Brighten Reparative Complex. Packed with age-defying botanicals like Pomegranate Extract, Beech Tree Bud Extract, Green Algae & Lotus Flower to brighten and firm the skin, this serum lives up to my expectations. After two weeks, I’m hooked. My skin looks smooth and glowing!
The Depuff + Illuminate Eye Firming Complex was another five-star product for me. I’ve been searching for the perfect eye cream and I’ve finally found it. This cream is rich and hydrated, but absorbs like a dream. I genuinely woke up looking less tired (even after those nights when I didn’t get much sleep). Last, but certainly not least, Planted in Beauty’s Nourish + Protect Antioxidant Moisturizer. This creamy formula is super hydrating and promises to help skin recover from environmental damage. Avacado, Passion Flower and Acai Berry work to reduce inflammation, fine lines and wrinkles. I found that it worked beautifully at night, but felt a bit too heavy to wear under makeup during the day.
Skincare is the one place in my beauty routine that I don’t mind investing in, especially when I find great products that work. Planted in Beauty by Well Within is one of those brands. Not only are their products effective and beautifully packaged, but Planted in Beauty is a brand with exceptional values and top notch ingredients that you can feel good about using.
