As a beauty blogger, I test and review a ton of skincare products. I’m always searching for products with interesting, new ingredients – products that offer a fresh take on beauty. So, I was intrigued when I was introduced to Tula Skincare, a skincare line formulated with probiotics. We all know that probiotics are internally good for your body, but did you also know that the same good bacteria that helps to calm your stomach is also beneficial to your skin? Well, I didn’t. I decided to do some research.

Tula Skincare

Tula Skincare was created by Dr. Roshini Raj, a board certified, practicing gastroenterologist (whose skin is absolutely gorgeous, btw). Dr. Raj wanted to use her specialized medical knowledge of probiotics to create a patented probiotic technology for the skin. The theory behind Tula is that the same probiotics that are good for your body, are also good for your skin. In addition to probiotics, Tula Skincare is packed with other superfood ingredients such as Blueberry (an antioxidant), Tumeric (which has healing properties & reduces fine lines), Flaxseed (helps keep skin hydrated & plump), white tea (an anti-inflammatory) and Chicory Root (which promotes cell turnover & reduces inflammation), in addition to Vitamins A, E and C.

I’ve been using three powerhouse products from Tula for the last couple of weeks – Tula’s Volume Defense Deep Wrinkle Serum, Hydrating Day & Night Cream and Exfoliating Treatment Mask. I have to say, I’m super impressed! Tula’s products are beautifully packaged in weighty, matte glass. They feel luxurious and look gorgeous on your vanity. But it’s what’s inside that matters, right?

Tula Skincare

I started with the Exfoliating Treatment Mask (1.7 oz./$54). This clay mask works to remove impurities in the skin and gently exfoliate. It feels comfortable on the skin and left my face feeling so soft and smooth. After 5-10 minutes, you dampen your fingers and massage the plant-based, biodegradable beads into the skin to exfoliate and rinse. For reference, my skin is typically super dry. Unfortunately, clay masks can leave my face feeling tight and dry, but this one did no such thing. After just ten minutes, my skin looked fresh & bright! This was definitely the standout product for me. I’ll be keeping this in rotation for quite awhile.

Next up, Tula’s Volume Defense Deep Wrinkle Serum (1 oz./$98). Although I don’t have wrinkles quite yet, I’ve been noticing these pesky, fine lines starting to form and I’m always trying to be proactive with my skincare. This serum contains Tula’s probiotic technology to target wrinkles and restore volume and elasticity. A little goes a long way with this serum, so I’m sure it will last quite awhile. It absorbs beautifully and works brilliantly with the other two products.

As I said earlier, my skin is dry and dehydrated. I need a serious dose of moisture twice daily and the Hydrating Day & Night Cream (1.7 oz./$52) delivers. This moisturizer is rich enough to keep my skin hydrated, but lightweight enough to be worn under makeup. The texture feels super luxurious and creamy. Plus, a pea-sized amount covers my entire face.
