Okay, so I’ve been slacking on the Friday Five posts, but I promise to try to make this a regular, weekly column. As a single mom, the end of the school year & beginning of the summer can be a bit hectic. This week’s Friday Five is all about music, tv, books, wanderlust and Glossier. If there’s a particular category you’d like me to include, feel free to let me know.
WEARING: The one product that I use every, single day without fail is the Glossier Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen SPF 35. I have a serious love/hate relationship with sunscreen. Finding an SPF for my face that didn’t break me out, wore well under makeup and didn’t have that awful sunscreen smell that I remember being drenched in as a child was impossible – then I found Invisible Shield. It has a slight citrus scent and is transparent, so it doesn’t leave a white cast on your face. Plus, it works well under and over makeup. Shop Invisible Shield and my other Glossier favorites by checking out my Glossier Rep page here. (If you’re a first time customer, you’ll get 20% off and free shipping when you purchase two items).
LISTENING: Have you heard Jay-Z’s new album 4:44 yet? I’m a huge Jay-Z fan. One of the best live shows I’ve ever attended was Jay-Z & Justin Timberlake at Fenway Park in Boston, so I was impatiently waiting for his new album to drop. I don’t subscribe to Tidal and I had used my free trial period on Beyonce’s Lemonade album (who didn’t?), but I had to subscribe for a month as I couldn’t wait a whole week to hear this album. It’s available on Apple Music now if you want to give it a listen – you won’t be disappointed.
FOLLOWING: I’m in awe of @dametraveler’s Instagram feed. This is a beautifully curated collection of images from women all around the world in the most gorgeous locations. Each photo is more beautiful than the next! Natasia’s goal with her feed is “to inspire & empower women to travel more, do more & be more” – and she succeeds.

WATCHING: If you’re like me, you don’t spend much time sitting around watching tv during the summer. I do, however, like to have a show or two on my DVR for those nights when I want to sit back, relax and turn my brain off. I’ve found it in Freeform’s new show, The Bold Type. If The Devil Wears Prada and Sex & the City had a baby, this would be it. It’s a fun, lighthearted show about 3 twenty-somethings working at a magazine not unlike Cosmopolitan. If you’re looking for something to watch while you’re waiting for Game of Thrones to start, The Bold Type is worth checking out.
READING: During the summer, I read more than I watch television. I read by the pool. I read at the beach. I read before bed. So I’m always looking for great book recommendations, which is why I was thrilled to find Girls at Library. GAL is full of interviews and book recommendations from a long list of diverse, extraordinary women. The interviews are fascinating; I love getting a little peek into someone else’s library. If you love to read, you must pay Girls at Library a visit. Website – www.girlsatlibrary.com
